SUSTAINABILITY

We deliberately chose to repair carbon frames because we believe in the importance of sustainable and resource-efficient use of materials. Unfortunately, far too many carbon frames currently end up in the trash due to a lack of alternatives. This is where our expertise comes in – through our specialized repair processes, we can restore damaged carbon frames and thus extend their lifespan.

Disposing of fiber composites presents a major challenge. Due to their special properties, they cannot simply be disposed of in the trash or processed through conventional recycling processes. Through our repairs, we contribute to conserving resources.
We are proud to contribute to sustainability and are pleased to offer you our carbon repair services.

Comparison of repair and new purchase

Bicycle manufacturer Trek demonstrated complete transparency in 2020, publishing the CO2 emissions generated for all components and their production steps. Based on this information, Ruckus Composites published an interesting study ( click here for the study ) that clearly demonstrated that carbon repair is many times more environmentally friendly than purchasing a new bike. Taking production and transport emissions into account, using the Trek Madone SLR 7 disc as an example, shipped by sea from Taiwan to Portland (approximately the same sea route from Taiwan to Hamburg), the following conclusions were reached:
